Our vision
Every independent hotel able to answer every guest, at any hour, as well as its best person would — and keep the booking instead of paying for it.
About Yalu
Yalu started at one villa estate beside Yala National Park, where the enquiries that mattered most arrived while everyone was asleep. Here's who built it, and where it's going.
Our vision
Every independent hotel able to answer every guest, at any hour, as well as its best person would — and keep the booking instead of paying for it.
Our mission
We build AI assistants for independent hotels that are honest by construction: prices calculated, not guessed; nothing sent without a person behind it; and a personality the property writes itself. We start with the guest conversation and carry it through the whole operation — the booking, the villa, the follow-up and the trade partner who sends the next guest.
Our website, our roadmap and our assistants follow the same rule: say what's true today, and label everything else.
Discounts, confirmations and anything sent in a person's name stay with a person.
Every feature was built and proven at Kotiyagala Luxury Villas, beside Yala National Park, before anyone else was offered it.
The team
Hotel operators and engineers, building the assistant they wanted for their own properties.
Founder & seed investor
Shakun founded Yalu and put in its seed capital. With a background in social media marketing and a seat as director of several leading Sri Lankan hotel chains, Shakun knows from the inside what an unanswered enquiry costs a hotel.
Chief Technology Officer
Nirosha leads engineering and built the Yalu platform: the three assistants, Yalu, Kalu and Mithu; the dashboard and staff app; the PMS connection; and room allocation.
For investors
We're raising a seed round at a USD 10 million valuation, with USD 500K already raised. Yalu is live in production at a paying property, with three assistants and a full hotel operations platform behind them. If you invest in hospitality, travel or applied AI, we'd like to talk.
